Taco Tuesdays as Resistance

I’ve recently discovered the acronym TACO in a WSJ article. I love that one of my favorite foods can now be seen as a form of resistance against the Orange Monster and his phalanx of evil gnomes currently in charge of our nation.

The acronym TACO is being used to describe DJT’s behavior in the financial world. It stands for Trump Always Chickens Out. Now it’s well known that bullys are really insecure cowards in wolves clothing. The world is discovering that DJT is really a coward. He thrives on adulation and withers when ridiculed.

It’s not like the WSJ to criticize the Orange monster after all of the tax breaks and weakening of governmental policies in favor of big business, Oligarchs, and Billionaires. But the shocks to their portfolios have finally encouraged them to speak out. If only all investors had the same inside scoop that the Trump family had they too would all be getting richer. But they don’t. Hence the new investment strategy of TACO – Bet on DJT to back down and/or reverse course.

The Orange Monster hates the new label. It get’s under his skin. it makes him mad. I think it’s time to capitalize on that.

I’m probably not the first to endorse this idea, but I believe that we should make TACO Tuesday a national day of protest. Make every Tuesday a silent shout-out against DJT and his lackeys.

So visit the Taco truck visiting a local construction site and let them know why. Visit any establishment created and run by a disenfranchised group and let them know why. The list is long so it shouldn’t be hard.

It will put money in their pockets and let them know that we aren’t all tight-fisted, heartless, and cruel. Hopefully they will know they aren’t alone in their battle against the Orange State.

When I was growing up we went to the polls on Tuesdays. Now we can vote with our hearts and stomachs. I favor Carnitas tacos. What’s your favorite?

As always I want to say Vote. Vote as if the world depends on it. The current administration is attacking many elements of this nation and unsettling the world. They flood the news cycle with changes, trying to put us off balance. Don’t let the tactics work. The goal for them is control and wealth. Vote.

Eat a Taco, or a Falafel, of some Dim Sum. Celebrate the ability to protest with Love.

My mantra during the pandemic was Peace, Love, Hope. I think it’s just as appropriate now.
