The No Kings Protest in Torrance CA on 10/18 was a hoot. My wife Gretchen, my son Darwin, and I had a great time hanging out with several thousand patriotic Americans on a beautiful fall day. We made a late decision to attend and made it to the event without any trouble. There was no evidence of America Hating protesters. Maybe they were all listening to Trump on truth social. But they weren’t here.
The crowd was boisterous, kind hearted, and Peaceful.

What a day! I attended the Torrance CA No Kings Protest with several thousand other people (my estimate, totally unverified). We had a blast. My only costume was a t-shirt that communicated that all were welcome here.
Many were dressed in costumes, everybody was friendly, most had signs with variations of “Fuck Trump” and Ice get out of our lives. For the record I’m an OWG (old white guy) in no danger of being pulled out of a car and separated from my family and loved ones.

But the crowd was everybody. Many different ethnic and gender identification groups. I loved the energy and love in the crowd.
Honestly the only people that sounded angry were the religious huddle in one corner of the field. They were assuring me that unless I repent and followed the Orange savior I was going to Hell. That was ok with me. I have no desire to follow these folks wherever they’re going.

There was no “We hate America” speech or activities. There was plenty of folks expressing the idea that they revered the constitution and greatly desired that this current administration felt the same way.
So President Trump, Speaker Johnson, all all the other Trump lickspittle lackeys need to beware. Their lies and actions to divide and conquer will be challenged by Americans that believe in Equality and Freedom for all.

I will be back! I left feeling better than I had in months. I left feeling that there was hope in getting through this national nightmare. Hope that our diversity will be embraced. Hope that we can love whoever the fuck we want to.
I highly recommend attending your next local No Kings event. Check out their website, https://www.nokings.org/ .

❤️❤️ so great to hear and well written!
I was in Ashland and had a similar experience there – lots of peaceful patriotic love & cheering for our nation, our citizens, and not the orange one. Several Aunt Tifa’s, as well.
