I’m Bob Zwissler and this is Walkabout

I am starting this blog to provide myself a creative outlet and to inform and entertain readers who visit. Walkabout is an expression that I appropriated from the Australians to describe travel I embarked on to clear my head. The meaning of the word has expanded to include sharing my life and interests with others.

Who am I? I’m a retired engineer, with 35 years of experience designing and building spacecraft, and living in southern California with my wife Gretchen and 3 sons. I walk with my dog Luna (sometimes referred to as my girlfriend), ride bikes on the street and in the mountains, like to cook, take pictures, and sometimes write fiction and poetry. I’m also opinionated with a distinct left-wing bent.

This blog gives me the opportunity to share my journey with you. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I do.
