Another quiet day of eating, hanging out, hiking, and biking.
We started with a great breakfast (remember road trip days always start with breakfast) of cinnamon bread french toast, Fletcher’s bacon, and of course coffee. I would not normally link to something like bacon, but I think it might be the best bacon I’ve ever had. So anyway, after breakfast settled we drove around Tillamook Head too Seaside OR for a short hike up it’s northern flank.
We didn’t go too far but I managed to get a few flower pictures and a picture of a salamander hanging out on the trail trying to look like a rock.
Afterward we stopped a Mexican food place named the Stand. Great chile rellenos, carnitas tacos, tamales, etc. A simple place for great food.
Satiated, we went back to the house for a quiet afternoon. I squeezed out a short bike ride on the beach, this time going north. More people on the beach this time, but fun nonetheless and worth a picture.
We broke a cardinal vacation rule this afternoon and watched the news about Trump’s debacle overseas. This required beer. Luckily, it didn’t take us long to escape the gravitational pull of the news and we had dinner, and then an after dinner walk.
