Well, it is our last day at the beach. We are saying goodbye to Cannon Beach tomorrow morning and heading south towards home. Tomorrow night we will be in Yreka, CA.
Today was a late start day, with breakfast and the Lazy Susan here in Cannon Beach followed by a walk to visit the house that Gretchen’s grandfather built in the 80’s.

After that we strolled through the town doing some shopping. We picked up a new card game at one of the stores and then headed into Bruce’s Candy Kitchen for some fresh made salt water taffy. The machine that makes, cuts, and wraps the taffy was operating while we were there.
After lunch we played Chinese Checkers on a game board that dates back to when Gretchen was a little girl visiting her grandparents at Cannon Beach. The board is probably older than any of us.
We drove over to the center of town and took a last walk on the beach with Axel, Megan, and Darwin. It was windy and I thought it was pretty cold.
Soon we were back at the house and the kids were packing up for the drive to the Portland airport to catch their flights home.
It has been a great visit. Thanks, Jimbo and Jody, for letting us stay at your beach house!
